I did the October 2009 Walvis Bay Bootcamp with Anna-Mart Kruger and 20 other hardy souls. Most of us were huffing ‘n puffing at the start, but this improved as we got into the swing of things. Especially the shuttle runs were great fun, and the camaraderie and jokes motivated us to get up early in the mornings.
As I was also gyming and swimming at the time, my weight dropped by only 1 kg due to muscle gain. But my waist shrunk by 4 cm, my push-ups increased by 30% and my 2km run rocked so much that I was running freely in front with no sound of anybody following me. This was a new feeling to me …
I have subsequently branched out into cycling, running, swimming and multi-sports events. But I recall fondly my Bootcamp experience and would recommend it strongly to anyone who would want to explore the almost unlimited boundaries of their physicality.
